An infrared moisture analyzer is an online, non-contact moisture measurement device. It is used in metallurgy, coal, chemicals, chemical fiber, papermaking, tobacco, food, construction, and other industries, providing fast and accurate moisture readings at every process point on the production line, reducing manual sampling and laboratory analysis, facilitating real-time moisture data collection and analysis, and guiding production.
Classification of infrared radiant heaters
Near-infrared: tungsten-filament vacuum tubes radiate near-infrared (NIR) light
Far-infrared: silicon carbide is a long-wave far-infrared radiant heater
Medium-infrared: quartz glass and ceramic infrared heaters radiate medium-wave infrared
Infrared moisture analyzers measure moisture according to recognized standard methods—the loss-on-drying method, also known as the (105 °C • 5 hours) or (135 °C • 3 hours) method. The sample is dried in a dryer over a long period, and the moisture content is calculated from the weight change before and after drying. This requires skilled operators with full command of the equipment and technique.
Scope of Application: Suitable for food-related items such as grains, starch, flour, dried noodles, brewed products, seafood, processed fish, processed meat, seasonings, pastries, dairy products, dried foods, and vegetable oils, as well as industrial products such as pharmaceuticals, ores and sands, coke, glass raw materials, cement, chemical fertilizers, paper, pulp, cotton, and various fibers.
Infrared heating principle
When far-infrared radiation strikes an object, it can be absorbed, reflected, or transmitted. Not all molecules can absorb far-infrared radiation—only electrically polar molecules respond. Water, organic substances, and polymers strongly absorb far-infrared radiation. When these substances absorb far-infrared energy and the natural vibration and rotation frequencies of their molecules and atoms match the frequency of the far-infrared radiation, resonance or rotation of molecules and atoms occurs, intensifying their motion; kinetic energy is converted into heat, rapidly raising the substance's temperature so thatwaterevaporates.
Conventional heating relies on conduction and convection, which require a medium and are slow and energy-intensive, whereas far-infrared heating uses thermal radiation and needs no medium. Moreover, because radiant energy is proportional to the fourth power of the heating element's temperature, infrared heating saves energy while being fast and efficient. In addition, far-infrared radiation has a certain penetrating power: molecules both on the surface and inside the material absorb far-infrared energy simultaneously, generating heat from within, so solvents or water evaporate evenly. This prevents deformation and other physical changes caused by uneven thermal expansion, preserving the material's appearance, physical and mechanical properties, strength, and color.
