WKT-VST600C Automatic Cooled HDT & Vicat Tester

The VicoMeter WKT-VST600C HDT/Vicat softening point temperature tester uses a PLC programmable controller for temperature regulation with computer display and operation. With the specimen rack lifting function, the rack can be raised or lowered at the start or end of a test. Compressor refrigeration enables rapid continuous testing. The instrument is easy to operate, convenient to use, stable in performance, and highly accurate, and test temperature and deformation can be monitored in real time during the test. When the test ends, the system automatically stops heating and can print test reports and curves. The latest cooling system enables rapid switching between hot and cold oil; the French Tecumseh compressor automatically performs hot-oil unloading, refrigeration, and oil pumping, improving efficiency by more than three times. This series is an essential instrument for quality inspection agencies, universities, and in-house enterprise testing. The product complies with standards including ISO 75(E), ISO 306(E), GB/T 8802, GB/T 1633, and GB/T 1634.

The Vicat Softening Temperature (VST) is the temperature at which a thermoplastic specimen, placed in a liquid heat-transfer medium under a specified load and a constant heating rate, is penetrated to a depth of 1 mm by a 1 mm² needle; the corresponding national standard is GB/T 1633-2000. VST is one of the indicators used to evaluate a material's heat resistance, reflecting the physical and mechanical properties of a product under heated conditions. Although VST cannot be used directly to evaluate a material's actual service temperature, it can guide quality control. The higher the Vicat softening temperature, the better the material's dimensional stability when heated and the smaller the thermal deformation — that is, the better its resistance to heat deformation, the greater its rigidity, and the higher its modulus.
