Be careful of dried goods with excessive moisture when purchasing. On November 12, the Chongqing Administration for Market Regulation issued Food Safety Sampling Notice No. 61 of 2021: among 2,665 batches sampled, 26 batches were found non-compliant.
Among the non-compliant samples, multiple batches of dried black fungus and dried shiitake mushrooms were judged as non-compliant food due to excessive moisture. Among them, dried black fungus sold by Zengsiwa Dried Goods Store in Tongnan District had a moisture test value of 14.5g/100g, and dried black fungus sold by Yuanhuajiao Trading in Tongnan District had a moisture test value of 16.1g/100g, both exceeding the national standard of 12g/100g; dried shiitake mushrooms sold by Buhao Life Supermarket in Bishan District had a moisture test value of 17.8/100g, and dried shiitake mushrooms sold by Dengping Non-Staple Food Store in Bishan District had a moisture test value of 14.9/100g, both exceeding the national standard of 13g/100g.

Experts note that non-compliant moisture in food has no major impact on human health, but it shortens product shelf life, makes products prone to mildew, and may cause product quality to decline and lose edible value.
At present, market supervision and management departments have, in accordance with the requirements of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, initiated investigation and punishment of non-compliant products according to law, and have taken risk control measures to trace product flow, recall and remove non-compliant products from shelves, analyze causes and carry out rectification.
