Hangzhou Mingshan Biotech purchased the VicoMeter WKT-450D motorized-loading fully automatic melt flow indexer: once the weight is placed, the motor loads and removes it automatically, and the instrument connects to a PC for operation, data storage, and reporting. It complies with GB/T 3682.1-2018, ISO 1133:1997, and ASTM D1238.

Melt flow rate is the extrusion rate of a melt through a standard die of specified length and inner diameter under specified conditions of temperature, load, and piston position. The mass extruded in a specified time is the melt mass-flow rate (MFR), in grams per 10 minutes (g/10 min); the volume extruded in a specified time is the melt volume-flow rate (MVR), in cubic centimeters per 10 minutes (cm³/10 min). Melt flow rate characterizes the viscous flow behavior of thermoplastics in the molten state.

VicoMeter at the Customer Site

The customer bought the indexer mainly to test the melt flow rate of a newly developed degradable plastic. On arrival, the crate was already unpacked, so the VicoMeter engineer leveled the instrument, explained its functions and operation in detail, and ran demonstrations with the customer's samples at the specified temperature and weight — excellent data and great satisfaction.
