VicoMeter at the Customer Site

The customer purchased the VicoMeter WKT-A9 precision Karl Fischer trace moisture analyzer mainly for teaching, so during installation and commissioning the engineer focused on explaining the instrument's principles to the students, plus simple operation and maintenance. To give students a direct understanding, the engineer ran demonstration tests with deionized water at 0.1 µL, 0.2 µL, 0.5 µL and 1 µL; the results were 98 µg, 199 µg, 508 µg and 1018 µg, all within the required range. Through the explanation and demonstration, the students gained a basic understanding of VicoMeter moisture analyzers.

A Karl Fischer moisture analyzer is an instrument designed on the Karl Fischer method to measure moisture content in materials. It is also known as a Karl Fischer moisture meter, fully automatic Karl Fischer moisture titrator, intelligent Karl Fischer trace moisture analyzer, or Fischer-method moisture meter, and comes in two types: coulometric and volumetric (titrimetric).

Which Samples Can a Karl Fischer Moisture Analyzer Test? Which Samples Can a Karl Fischer Moisture Analyzer Test?

As a classic moisture determination method, Karl Fischer titration is suitable for measuring water in a wide range of organic and inorganic substances. Because compounds vary in their properties, they fall into two categories: those that can be analyzed directly and those that cannot.

What Calibration Standards and Verification Methods Are Available for Karl Fischer Moisture Determination? What Calibration Standards and Verification Methods Are Available for Karl Fischer Moisture Determination?

VicoMeter Karl Fischer moisture analyzers are typically calibrated and verified using standards such as methanol-water standard solutions, water-containing sodium tartrate, distilled (deionized or pure) water, and water-saturated toluene. This article introduces the calibration substances, calibration methods, and accuracy verification procedures commonly used with VicoMeter coulometric and volumetric Karl Fischer moisture analyzers.
