The customer purchased the VicoMeter WKT-R-50ZS online near-infrared (NIR) moisture analyzer, which is used in all industries that require rapid moisture determination and can perform online testing of chemical raw materials, grains and cereals, wood chips, and other materials. Because near-infrared light undergoes multiple reflections, refractions, diffraction, and absorption inside the sample, the near-infrared spectrum carries rich structural and compositional information of the sample during this series of processes, and each substance has characteristic absorption.

The WKT-R-50ZS online NIR analyzer serves industries needing rapid moisture determination, testing chemical raw materials, grain, wood shavings, and more online. NIR spectroscopy qualitatively and quantitatively analyzes organics: specific wavelengths pass through lens, filter wheel, and mirror onto the material; absorbed and scattered light is focused onto the NIR sensor, whose processor feeds reference and measurement signals to the host for rapid moisture display.

VicoMeter at the Customer Site

As a food factory, the customer received a customized stainless-steel NIR analyzer. With prior on-site testing done, this visit required only mounting on the pre-installed bracket. The sample read 11.27% on the customer's halogen analyzer; the engineer calibrated to 11.25%, and the line ran stably at 11.25%±0.1%.
