VicoMeter at the Customer Site

The purchasing school is the School of Chemical Engineering at Tianjin University, mainly to give students and teachers a full understanding of the moisture content of their researched oil products at various time points. The instrument is used mostly by graduate students, who already understand its principles well, so the VicoMeter technical engineer focused the training on operating and maintenance precautions instead of principles. The engineer then ran two tests with the samples, followed by two tests each by the two responsible students; the data were essentially consistent and all within the expected moisture range.

A Karl Fischer moisture analyzer is an instrument designed on the Karl Fischer method to measure moisture content in materials. It is also known as a Karl Fischer moisture meter, fully automatic Karl Fischer moisture titrator, intelligent Karl Fischer trace moisture analyzer, or Fischer-method moisture meter, and comes in two types: coulometric and volumetric (titrimetric).

Which Samples Can a Karl Fischer Moisture Analyzer Test? Which Samples Can a Karl Fischer Moisture Analyzer Test?

As a classic moisture determination method, Karl Fischer titration is suitable for measuring water in a wide range of organic and inorganic substances. Because compounds vary in their properties, they fall into two categories: those that can be analyzed directly and those that cannot.

What Is the Difference Between Coulometric and Volumetric Karl Fischer Titration? What Is the Difference Between Coulometric and Volumetric Karl Fischer Titration?

The biggest difference between the volumetric and coulometric methods is that I2differ in their source: in the volumetric method, I2comes from the titrant reagent, while in the coulometric method, I2is produced by electrolyzing an electrolyte containing I-is generated by electrolysis of the electrolyte.
