Jiangsu Xingguang New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. purchased the VicoMeter WKT-R-50ZS online NIR moisture analyzer, which serves any industry needing rapid moisture determination and tests chemical raw materials, grain, wood chips, and more online. NIR spectral analysis uses the substance information in the near-infrared region for qualitative and quantitative analysis of organics. Light of specific wavelengths passes through a lens, filter wheel, and mirror onto the sample; part is absorbed and part is scattered and gathered by a concave mirror onto the NIR sensor, whose digital processor relays the reference and measurement signals to the host, which rapidly displays the moisture range.

The WKT-R-50ZS online NIR analyzer serves industries needing rapid moisture determination, testing chemical raw materials, grain, wood shavings, and more online. NIR spectroscopy qualitatively and quantitatively analyzes organics: specific wavelengths pass through lens, filter wheel, and mirror onto the material; absorbed and scattered light is focused onto the NIR sensor, whose processor feeds reference and measurement signals to the host for rapid moisture display.

VicoMeter at the Customer Site

Jiangsu Xingguang New Material Technology Co., Ltd. had already purchased a VicoMeter instrument last year — VicoMeter's online near-infrared moisture analyzer — which freed the customer's moisture judgment from reliance on veteran operators, improved production efficiency, and refined the PLC process of the customer's entire production line.

With different installation conditions from the previous unit, the engineer selected a new mounting point confirmed with the customer's manager. As the production line was complete, wiring had to follow existing routes, adding difficulty. After installation, the engineer calibrated the instrument with the customer's paper and entered the calibration values; after some running time, readings were stable and clearly reflected moisture changes, to the customer's satisfaction.
