The customer purchased a batch of laboratory equipment from VicoMeter: a VM-E01 halogen moisture analyzer, an AC200 electronic balance, a WKT-300A solid density meter, a WKT-400T melt flow indexer, and a WKT2-12-12 muffle furnace. When the VicoMeter service engineer arrived, the epoxy floor at the plant had been finished only two days earlier; the laboratory environment was acceptable but had no air conditioning yet, and a wooden desk served as a temporary bench. An electrician wired temporary sockets — the lab had only 220 V power, no 380 V supply, so the muffle furnace was set up and powered near the distribution room.
The installation and demonstration passed inspection; due to time constraints, the customer practiced the actual operation with guidance the following day. The customer had used this series of equipment at their old plant and had wall-mounted work instructions in place, so after familiarizing themselves with our products they could operate independently. Testing showed a melt flow rate of 7.8 g/10 min by the mass method, a product density of 1.058 g/㎤, and a moisture content of 1.604%. The muffle furnace was set to 600 °C and was stable once the temperature was reached.

WKT-400T Touchscreen Melt Flow Indexer
The WKT-400T touchscreen melt flow indexer (melt index tester) measures melt flow rate (MFR) by the mass method. With a large touchscreen display and operation plus an integrated manual/automatic cutting design, it is designed and built to authoritative standards for determining the melt flow rate (MFR) of various plastics and resins in the viscous-flow state. It is widely used in plastics production, plastic products, and petrochemicals, as well as by universities, research institutes, and commodity inspection departments.
The customer was satisfied with the commissioning and offered some suggestions: the muffle furnace's straight-insert temperature probe would benefit from a fixed guard at the rear to keep heat from escaping; the simple lab has no dedicated platform, so the furnace requires an independent stand, kept away from other equipment to avoid high-temperature interference, with a dedicated 4×6 mm² power line; and other equipment should be checked and maintained regularly.
The plant had just been relocated — most equipment was not yet fully installed, staffing was limited, and some floor plans were not finalized, so instrument placement may still change. Level adjustment was demonstrated so the customer can fine-tune it later. Trial operation was planned for mid-month; the samples this time were scrap from previous production and do not represent actual product data.
