Customer Profile

Jiujiang Yide Grain & Oil Co., Ltd. purchased the VicoMeter WKT-C20 fully automatic Karl Fischer moisture analyzer this time. The WKT-C20 fully automatic Karl Fischer moisture analyzer uses the Karl Fischer volumetric method to titrate, measure, and analyze moisture content. The instrument is manufactured in accordance with more than 20 national standards such as GB6238, GB11146, and GB11133, making it an ideal instrument for moisture testing in production, scientific research, and quality inspection.

The WKT-C20 uses the volumetric principle, detecting down to 10ppm and measuring solids, liquids, and powders within 30 seconds. Manufactured to 20+ national standards (GB6238, GB11146, GB11133), it is ideal for production, research, and quality inspection.

VicoMeter at the Customer Site

On arrival, the engineer found loose sockets (some with reversed wiring); the reaction vessel sat forward on a tilting bracket and the stirrer ran noisily until adjusted. The methanol's high water content gave a titer of 3.9-4.1 mg/ml. With production a month away, the engineer trained the manager on operation and maintenance; acceptance was normal.

The customer brought in vegetable oil for testing. The sample was nearly anhydrous, measuring 0.05%-0.07% moisture—data the customer accepted.

Given the customer's new equipment plans and the C20's manual titer calculation, they may later consider an upgrade once production begins.

Karl Fischer Moisture Analyzers Karl Fischer Moisture Analyzers

A Karl Fischer moisture analyzer is an instrument designed on the Karl Fischer method to measure moisture content in materials. It is also known as a Karl Fischer moisture meter, fully automatic Karl Fischer moisture titrator, intelligent Karl Fischer trace moisture analyzer, or Fischer-method moisture meter, and comes in two types: coulometric and volumetric (titrimetric).

What Is the Difference Between Coulometric and Volumetric Karl Fischer Titration? What Is the Difference Between Coulometric and Volumetric Karl Fischer Titration?

The biggest difference between the volumetric and coulometric methods is that I2differ in their source: in the volumetric method, I2comes from the titrant reagent, while in the coulometric method, I2is produced by electrolyzing an electrolyte containing I-is generated by electrolysis of the electrolyte.

Which Samples Can a Karl Fischer Moisture Analyzer Test? Which Samples Can a Karl Fischer Moisture Analyzer Test?

As a classic moisture determination method, Karl Fischer titration is suitable for measuring water in a wide range of organic and inorganic substances. Because compounds vary in their properties, they fall into two categories: those that can be analyzed directly and those that cannot.

What Calibration Standards and Verification Methods Are Available for Karl Fischer Moisture Determination? What Calibration Standards and Verification Methods Are Available for Karl Fischer Moisture Determination?

VicoMeter Karl Fischer moisture analyzers are typically calibrated and verified using standards such as methanol-water standard solutions, water-containing sodium tartrate, distilled (deionized or pure) water, and water-saturated toluene. This article introduces the calibration substances, calibration methods, and accuracy verification procedures commonly used with VicoMeter coulometric and volumetric Karl Fischer moisture analyzers.

How to Ensure Moisture Reacts Fully with Karl Fischer Reagent How to Ensure Moisture Reacts Fully with Karl Fischer Reagent

As a professional instrument for moisture determination, the Karl Fischer moisture analyzer is widely used across industries. Ensuring that moisture reacts fully with the Karl Fischer reagent is the key to accurate moisture measurement in samples. How can this be achieved? That is the question this article answers. As an expert in the moisture field, VicoMeter walks you through it.
